Warner Bros. estimates Harry Potter 7 Part 2 earned on its opening day $168.6M in the US from Friday to Sunday. It overpowered 2008's Batman blockbuster "The Dark Knight".
Internationally, the film gained more $307 M in 59 countries since Wednesday. This defeated the previous best international debut of $206.4 M by Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."
Worldwide, the last installment of Harry Potter topped $475 M, making it the franchise's first billion-dollar worldwide hit.
